Codi, an Andreessen Horowitz-backed startup, has launched what it describes as the first comprehensive AI platform designed to fully automate office management operations, according to reports. Founded in 2018 by Christelle Rohaut and Dave Schuman, the company originally operated as a marketplace connecting businesses with flexible office spaces before pivoting to AI-driven office management solutions.

From Manual Management to AI Automation
Sources indicate that Codi’s transformation stems from the founders’ recognition that office management remains “very manual and broken” in the post-pandemic workplace environment. CEO Christelle Rohaut explained that her team previously managed office spaces and vendors manually for clients, but recent AI advancements enabled them to automate these processes completely., according to technology trends
“The previous model of Codi, you had to get the space with Codi. Now, whatever office you lease, you can use this to automate your office logistics,” Rohaut stated regarding the new AI SaaS product. Analysts suggest this shift represents a significant evolution from the company‘s original flexible office space marketplace model.

Addressing Post-Pandemic Office Challenges
The technology launch comes as return-to-office initiatives continue to gain momentum throughout corporate America. Reports indicate that the traditional office manager role has transformed significantly in the hybrid work era, with many companies leaving these positions unfilled or redirecting existing managers toward event planning rather than logistical coordination.
According to the analysis, companies can spend at least $80,000 annually just on administrative costs to maintain an office. Codi’s platform reportedly addresses this financial burden by automating vendor coordination for essential office needs including pantry restocking and cleaning services.
Rapid Market Adoption and Competitive Positioning
The company released its beta version in May and officially launched the product this week, with reports indicating impressive early traction. Sources state the platform reached $100,000 in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) within just five weeks of beta release and has already signed 40 companies including TaskRabbit and Northbeam.
Rohaut positioned Codi against legacy management companies and workplace experience platforms like Envoy, noting that unlike traditional approaches, Codi’s AI autonomously executes tasks without requiring staff to review, hire, or coordinate with individual vendors. The platform integrates what the company describes as a curated network of service providers while handling physical office operations coordination.
Substantial Time and Cost Savings Claimed
The new platform is estimated to save “hundreds of hours a year in admin tasks,” according to company statements. Codi operates on a subscription model with a monthly management fee that reportedly represents “a fraction of the cost of an office manager or part-time office manager or even a fractional EA.”
Rohaut said the AI was trained on expertise and data accumulated over several years of manual office management. She noted that “a good portion” of their existing office management clients are transitioning to the AI platform.
Vision for Self-Running Offices
“Codi is building the future where offices can run themselves, just like cars can drive themselves,” Rohaut stated. “We want to entirely remove the logistical burden of managing physical spaces and free human talent to focus on workplace culture and growth.”
The company last raised a $16 million Series A round in 2022 led by Andreessen Horowitz and has raised $23 million to date, according to reports. The launch represents what analysts suggest could be a significant shift in how companies approach physical office management as hybrid work models become permanent.
