According to GSM Arena, Poco revealed its HyperOS 3 rollout timeline during the Poco F8 series launch event in Bali. The Poco F8 Pro and F8 Ultra already ship with HyperOS 3 out of the box. The Poco F7 series and Poco X7 lineup will receive the update by the end of this month, with the F7 Ultra already getting it. In December, the update expands to the Poco F6 series, Poco X6 Pro, Poco M7, Poco M6 lineup, and Poco C75. Finally, devices including the Poco F5 series, Poco X6, Poco M7 Pro 5G, Poco C85, Poco Pad, and newly launched Poco Pad X1 and Pad M1 will get HyperOS 3 between December and March 2026.
What HyperOS 3 actually brings
The update introduces several UI changes, but the standout feature is Hyper Island. Basically, it creates a dynamic notification area around the front camera cutout. Instead of that space being wasted, it now shows notifications and activities. And there are several new AI upgrades and tools, though Poco hasn’t detailed exactly what those entail yet.
The long wait for some devices
Here’s the thing – March 2026 is a really long timeline. That means some Poco device owners will be waiting nearly two years for this update. The staggered rollout makes sense from a testing perspective, but it creates a fragmented experience across the Poco ecosystem. Older devices like the F5 series getting updates alongside brand-new tablets shows Poco is trying to maintain support, but the extended timeframe might frustrate users who see newer models getting features first.
Where this fits in Android land
Poco’s HyperOS is Xiaomi’s answer to the question of Android skin differentiation. With manufacturers like Samsung and Google pushing their own AI features and interface designs, HyperOS represents Xiaomi’s attempt to create a distinctive experience. The Hyper Island feature in particular shows they’re thinking about utilizing screen real estate creatively. But the real test will be whether these software updates arrive reliably and actually improve the user experience rather than just adding visual changes.
